I am having some issues when trying to upload the gauntlet to the game. For one I am not really sure how it should be bound, things like the helm and weapon were easy. Another thing is the texture is turning out horrible in the game preview. When I size the texture to it's in game size in Photoshop or preview it on the model, it looks fine still. Some help would be nice.
What the texture looks like rezised to in game dimensions.
What it looks like in game...
As you can see, there is far more detail in the 128 x 256 image than in game.
Make sure your in game video settings are maxed, by default the texture setting is down a notch, this half sizes and compresses the textures pretty heavily.
What you also can do is leave the texture at it's original size (256x512 or 512x1024) and let the game resize it, that way it looks way better. Not sure why though, but it helped with my helmet as well..
Also make sure you use the masks the correct way, if not the texture can become really blurry.
Got some in game of the 4 piece. Still having some issues with the cloaks weighting and the fact that the inside shows up transparent...Not sure how they got the default cloak to show both sides with only one layer of geometry. I may just scrap the cloak and submit it as is. I'm not to satisfied with the set anyway and the cloak doesn't add much to it. :shifty:
@Jalcober ya you are right about that. But at this point I am going to just end this piece and try to fit in a new set within the next week. I feel it would take just as long to get this set to a point where I am satisfied with it. First time making a piece this low poly and I don't have much texture experience.
Also I have never submitted anything through the Dota client. Do I submit each piece separately zipped with its geometry levels and textures in a folder?
You need STEAM client,
When you preview it you have the option you have to allow Valve to download them from your PC, so set a name/title for each item check the polycount tab [ x ] put an image like that presentation I guess and send it off, wait a bit should pop up a link were you have to follow more directions.

Through the game client everything is zipped automatically. In the preview menu there's a submit button. All you need to add is the main picture, name and description.
Damn, so I may have done it wrong >.< I uploaded to Other because it has a polycount submission check box so I assumed that is where it needed to go despite the wearable item upload section. Is this bad?

I think you can remove the one you submitted through the "Other" without a problem and just submit the items the right way afterwards.

@Andyk125 I do upload the textures as 512x1024, I just re-sized it to the actual size to test it. Thanks for the advice though.
Edit: Got the glove skinning working, apparently just had to bind the elbow as a hierarchy.
Nice sculpts btw!
anyway, nice sculpt man!

Just notify someone I guess and then use the other one.
Alright thanks
