I've done some concept art on my armor for Phantom lancer. A big part of playing with PL is the illusions, so I wanted to make armor that wasn't straight forward (if that makes sense). I designed armor with a lot of loops and spins. Here is the concept art. Let me know what you think.
So, I jumped into making the arm. This is my first time with 3d modeling, but I think I was able to pick it up quickly. I realize the difficulty with PL is the low polycount limit. When I had finished the arm initially, it had a 750 polycount, so I had to keep deleting unnecessary faces and combining others to drop it down by half. I think it turned out as I wanted it to, though.
After a bit of break, I have finally taught myself how to texture and such. I have finished texturing the gauntlets and have started the belt. Here is the current status:
And with that, the contest is over. I had a great time trying my hand at modeling. It's been fun learning this new skill. I did have a couple of moments where I'd figure out something and realize how difficult I made it on myself or how I could have easily improved my product (I figured out normals last). That's okay, though. I'm pretty happy with how my first project turned out and will definitely consider doing it again.
Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to properly figure out rigging, so I had to make major adjustments to my product. I almost considered removing the belt with how it turned out on the character. I was very pleased with how my spear turned out, though. It rigged nicely the first time I tried.
Some of the other entries I've seen are just stunning; they may be better than any other items on the market right now. I'd like to congratulate all of the other entries. I will post a link to my dota workshop page in a following comment.

I think that I need to make the loops on the belt larger to match the shoulder and arms.
Also, here is an idea I've been messing around with, but I'm not sure of (the PL on his chest):
Going to have pictures of the spear up in a bit, I'm pretty proud of it.
