Wow! Really liking your concepts, they fit with the character so well. My only advice would be that the weapon and headband look a little too dainty looking compared to her meaty shoulder pads.
just a quick update on the head piece, staff and cloak. just not really happy with the staff i might start fresh on this tonight. once i'v redesigned the staff ill do a more detailed colour pass and then on to maya. yay.
does anyone know if the model preview displays transparency and incandescence? i have tried applying these two my two previous cm staff but haven't been able to get them to show up.
some further work the her staff, its kinda getting somewhere i'm liking but just confusing myself with it now, but i think it could be starting to get good. especially if the head it repeated in 3 dimensions around the pole.
yea i do really like #2 but i just don't feel like it suit crystal maiden very well, maybe more phantom lancer. hmmm i might just have to get it into 3d to play around with it more. thanks for the feedback.
ok a bit more refined development, i was having a hard time with the detailing but i think crystal maiden can get away with a more art nouveau filigree style. i was always imagining these pieces being a dull metal colour but now seeing it in colour i almost feel like adding a new colour is making her too busy and confusing, but then i'm not such a fan for her bright crayon cyan base colour either.
but all in all i'm pretty happy with how shes turning out. now to get into maya and modeling hopefully get it all finished this weekend with just textures and masks to go. not sure if i'll sculpt the detail in zbrush or just use a hight field in photoshop. we'll see.
Started on the pauldrons and vanbraces, but i'm not ahhpy with the pattern on the pauldrons so i will redo this before i make any normals. next the cape and head piece.
