I was discussing this with a friend the other day. We both agreed that $400K seems a bit steep for what essentially will be an animatic (story reel). I'd love to see a feature length movie of the goon but for that money I think i'd rather they make a fully animated film short. Then look to make a feature length movie after that. By the look of it they have most of the major character assets done.
anyhoo, i'm still stoked by whatever they make from this and hope they get their funding to move it forward.
They're lagging a bit. Over half way through the Kickstarter with less than half of their goal pledged. There's always a bigger push towards the end, but it might be a close call.

This is the problem I have. Your donating for an animatic that you don't even get to see. On the fence about donating, but I probably will.
Point taken. It makes sense that they'd also use the attention being backed by the fans to help sell the idea to whomever they're pitching to. Showing that there is indeed interest from public and that it's not necessary to have a similar film ,that's already produced, to compare sales with.
Glad to hear they're not giving up if their Kickstarter doesn't hit the target and they seem super passionate about it. I'll have to checkout the comic.
Great stuff. I just hope we get to see something. If they are going to use this "story reel" to go on and make a fully realised movie then i'm torn as to whether I'd want to see the story reel or not. Would be a bit "spoilery" imo... Great to see they got it off the ground though.
They will but only @ Blur's office for whoever can make it there (and donated). They can't upload anything on the net for obvious "Hollywood-New-Movie-NDA" reason.

Now it's $55,000+
They won't need 29 day to hit their mark :-)

I have a bad feeling about this, though. Looks like they won't make it... Which would be a shame
Going to be another entertaining piece of work that will never be seen by the looks of It.
