Building a new Computer Rig

Hi guys,
I'm looking to build a new Computer at the end of the month on a budget of around £1000. I have a basic idea of what I'd like, though I fear that it would come to more than 1000, but I'm not too clued up on this stuff. Hopefully someone will be able to educate me a bit more so I don't buy rubbish.
What I have in my head currently are :
Intel CPU Core i7 3820 Socket 2011
16gb of 1600mhz of Ram.
and a 660 ti GPU
I also would like a small SSD with a 1tb Hard drive.
Of course, with the 3820 comes an increased price in motherboards (maybe 2-3x more, is it worth it? Or should I stick with a 3770k Ivy bridge and a cheaper mother board at around £80?) I really haven't a clue here.
Anyway, hopefully someone can help me. Bit out of my depth here, but I really need a future proof (three years I'd like) computer.
