I made a water tower loosely based on this rather popular piece of concept art:
http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?141389-Concept-Art-Desert-Submarine
Its supposed to be standing in a sandy dry area.
First time using udk, first "real" attempt at texturing form photosources.
The tank and the pump enclosure have unique textures the wooden structure and the pipes have tiling textures with unique AO. All textures 1024x1024. Spec and gloss for pump enclosure, pipes and wood are still missing.
I plan on adding the missing texture maps an then work on a small base for the model.
I could use some advice and critique on basically everything: Material definition on the tank and general advice on texturing, texture sizes, modelling, scale of the objects... anything you can think of.

here are my UVs:
tank and concrete bases:
wooden structure for AO map:
and for the enclosure:
here are the maps from left to right: diffuse, specular, gloss
Just a quick example of what probably should overlap. Note I did not paint the back beams.
If you wanted to get even more optimized you could even combine the pink with the orange, and the green with the blue. There is no reason why that asset shouldn't fit comfortably on one UV map.
