Damn that looks really cool! I like the take on giving her clothes but still keeping a lot of the natural body shapes. I think if you try some more variations of the "helm", you'll have a really, really sweet concept!
Nice! Did you take Naga's original geo and just tweak it into this shape or start completely from scratch? The first method may allow you to easily transfer weights later on in the process.
I took the original geo for the upper part, Ive done some items that are already in the game, learned that trick by trail and error :P
The geometry on the belt thing is made from scratch. Also i had to optimize and create new geometry on the chest piece, mostly because some of the polygons that already existed, specifically on the neck were not the shape that i was looking for.
I like the design, you've obviously done this before. I'm just starting out on my design, do you have any tips that you could share before I get knee deep in the whole modeling/rigging/etc parts
So many tips but the most important one is keep versions of your work saved, everytime you change something, save with a different name (workv1, workv1.2, workv1.3) and so on, everytime you do a BIG change, save with workv2.1 stuff like that, ive lost a LOT of time when i have to do something that was already the way i liked it, and then messed it up. It also lets you see if your vision was distorted from the original idea by comparing the files.
I'm working with 3ds max and I havent done much weighting or rigging before. I plan to watch some tutorials on digital tutors. Anything I should worry about?
Well I mostly do all my weighting and rigging in maya, so i wouldnt know much on 3ds. but im sure there are plenty of good tutorials on it out there! gl
so i know i havent been doing much with this, but things got busy at work, hoping i can finish it in time to submit. Did 2 versions of the swords and im pretty happy with both of them, thinking about the earrings now, not sure if this is the right feel for this model. Will continue experimenting!
wow... im done.... i cant believe it... ill be uploading to the store asap, hope nothing goes wrong with the importing!!! final model here, minus spec/normals

There's still some things I would like to improve on, but I'm quite happy with the way it turned out
