This set's going to take inspiration from sacrificial traditions in history. Most likely it will take inspiration from various South American cultures but I'm going to stray from making it too blatant. First idea is an offhand weapon, a tumi, the ceremonial knife used by the Incas to sacrifice animals. Here is a concept silhouette with a comparison picture.
The tumi looks like it could be an interesting choice. I think your next step should be to take the simple form of the real world object and exagerate it into a form more distinct and suitable to Dota 2.
The first hit's you'll get if searching on google are of blades where the grip is in the form of an inca figure
Now these look more ceremonial than functional, but they're a good example of how to develop this into something more interesting.
yeah, I should probably make it more ornate, though it seems like Huskar is much more tribal than the Incas so it will have to be something subtle. I think I'll design other set pieces first so I can get a general aesthetic, then reflect that in the tumi's handle.
I'll also try to play with proportions. thanks for the feedback!
Looking good! The Tumi looks like it could use more love in its silhouette. Also, from what I understand the game doesn't support two-sided planes so you might need to give the feathers in the helmet a thickness.

I assume just copying the feathers and flipping the normals should work shouldn't it?
btw, thanks for the feedback, it's been lonely in here lol

but that amounts to 224 extra tris. Why would open planes not go well, I'm still kind of new to this
"Please note that Dota 2 does not support double-sided materials; you will need to create geometry where a backside is needed."
no, but the person who told me to do that has, NeoDement
Entertaining the idea of having this crown like thing instead of the feathers.
Also show is the streamer things that I'm thinking will take place of the hair
