GOGO GADGET PAINTOVER! So, putting my awesome concept skillz into top gear, I made a little paintover of what I'm getting at.
Some issues I can see are large patches of black clothing possible looking a bit boring, so I'm thinking of ways to break it up a bit. Currently thinking patched/stitched up bits on the clothing. The back is going to be a real problem area as its the part the player sees a lot, so I'm currently thinking my way around that one (ideas welcome!)
I'm going to put some more thought into the staff, in terms of jazzing it up a bit with something else in there to counteract the general blackness of the set.
I am also considering doing a custom ward too, probably a large haitian style stone crucifix, and offerings to Samedi, Rum/Cigars/Skull's etc.
He went to his tailor? lol. Not quite sure what that comment is supposed to mean? I am assuming its a comment about the authenticity of the item in relation to the original character.
Its kind of like asking "Where did Tidewalker get his comedy pirate hat from?" in the Dota store. Valve are no strangers to slightly off kilter items if that's what you are suggesting? The item set is based on a Haitian Voodoo Loa, I thought it was fairly fitting for the character.
Sorry if I took that statement the wrong way and you were just asking for some cool back story from me, but it was hard to tell from the one sentence .

Tidehunter scavenged the items he has, it's part of his lore. I guess the idea here is witch doctor scavenged Slash's dead body?
Witch doctor already has a tophat in game. But I will agree that some aspects of the set seem a tad out of place in the fantasy based world of dota. The jacket looks like something from the 80's. Plus it the black of the jacket covers up witch doctor's primary color, purple.
This is a cool idea for a set, though it does need some reworking. Mostly the jacket.

His hat and the dreads slipped through the cracks tbh.
I may start to sound like a broken record here, but this is an actual Haitian deity that the attire is based on, It isnt slash. It clearly reads that way, so some reworking will be in order there.
...and forgive me for feeding the trolls, but Qwiggalo, It would be nice if instead of snarky one line reply's, you spent a little more time outlining your problems with others work, and gave some constructive feedback. You are making a valid point, in a really unnecessarily sarcastic way. This is a forum where game artist come together to help each other out with constructive criticism and advice, not just tell people they are wrong, without some explanation as to why they are.
Let's not jump to conclusions here. All I've done is asked about how it makes sense, explained tidehunter's accepted items and told you what your set currently looks like.

Just for reference, here is the wikipedia article on Baron Samedi - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baron_Samedi
