[ArenaNet Internship 2013], Environment Art Test

So I have also started working the art test for ArenaNet and I just wanted to share what I have thus far.

HOK_Presentation.jpg

I put together a simple turnaround of the house that I'm working on. Right now I appear to have some smoothing group issues and also I tried out my own support piece at the top of the roof, but I'm not sure if its flowing with the rest of the house.

Some of my next steps include:

-Textures obviously
-Maybe add some lighting structures since I have some extra tris to work with
-Getting it into UDK or CryEngine since I've been studying up on the engine
-Lighting the house and seeing how it hits the textures

Any way that's all I have for now. As always I appreciate critiques and feedback. Thank you in advance.

Looks good so far. Whats your polycount at? You should also post up a wireframe, maybe we can find some unneeded edgeloops ;)

Are you allowed to submit the model in a UDK or CryEngine format? I thought it had to be in the 3D Editor?

I'm at about 2,150 tris so far and for sure I will put up a wireframe. The instructions say you need to have several nice renders of the finished piece, but it doesn't specifically say which program you can or can't use. I'm sure they want to see something in game using whatever game engine you are comfortable with or show you know how to use a different one besides UDK. For right now I'm just rendering in 3Ds Max and then for the final shots I will be using one of the two game engines I mentioned.
