Those images are inspiration piece to get more ideas.
Nice can't wait to see what ya do, I also did what you've done, I also added the limits and original poly/tri counts to see how much I can get away with when changing things.
I'm digging the front view a bunch, I really like the helm design too but I feel like if you're going to bring the horns that far forward it might help to bring the wings back further (if possible, I don't know how the rigs work yet) to balance it out.
also, the side view silhouette totally looks like a skull from the side facing right.
Looks great,
I don't think you'll be able to get away with that tail geo idea, they left it pretty plain there and you only got 150 triangles to work with .
Might have worked if we could add to the tail but we are replacing It.
There seems to be a decent amount of triangles there to do something I think. No?
I could've probably have gotten a lot more mileage if we could use Alphas on this.
150 seems ample (although The fork looks a bit silly though).
I'm not too worried about it looking anything like Diablo. I was more worried it would look too 'WoW', so I removed a lot of the typical bulky armor trim and spikes, for something a bit more organic and layered.
The plan for the eyes is for them to look kinda similar to the ones on the original design (keeping them relatively 'dead' looking).
The circle thingy on his forehead is a small spike (I just couldn't bother getting the foreshortening right on for this ortho).
Also not really loving the straps, but wouldn't mind adding some assymetry without making it look too 'forced' (although I personally don't care THAT much about the assymetry).
Despite my contours being a bit messy, the designs are supposed to be somewhat 'clean' and 'empty'. I'll just be using them as canvases for a few glow-y runes.
The Plate seems to be ultra clean at the moment, and staring at it, I want it to get beaten up and scratched and slammed, BUT I'm sure you got that on your radar.
Minor Critic:
I wouldn't add that little bit on the backside of the shoulders on the lowpoly, the part that "circles around the wing it will most likely clip through leaving it out wouldn't be bad either and would save a bit on the low. I had to look hard for an area to comment on.
Nice work J,
I thought it would have been a prob good to hear It's alright.
The shading might be a problem for those edges that aren't turned though, specifically on the front of the horns on the curve if you haven't already turned them all.
You know what your doing I'm just trying to help, looks awesome texture will be just as good I am sure can't wait.
Looks great right now, I'll say that I guess you mean the under side of the wings which I would have to agree, maybe not putting any details on it would work out better or just leave the smooth version on and use textures? Unless that's what you did and the bake turned out like that then whoa, oddness.
Other wise the rest looks really nice and clean, the textures are going to stand out and make this even more bad ass.
The tail bake is looking wicked I totally didn't think that would workout so good as it did, nice work.

I'm gonna do Doom Bringer instead.
Just screen-grabbed, the front and side, and put each 'Armour Piece' into it's own Photoshop layer, with it's corresponding Geo/Tex budgets.
Threw the pallette up there for when I start my paintovers.
OK! So onto my Mood Board:

Trying to get my shapes to look right: Still struggling with some areas:
Side is kinda just barfed out. Gonna work on it some more tomorrow:

looking forward to your entry!

Wings and tip of the tail. Then we be ready!
Keep it up!
Not too sold on the bottom of the wings, but i think for the most part I'll be ready to go.

do it up!
coming along slowly. Have some of the Pre-Zbrush model:
Working on the sword tail wings, and arm stuff. Zbrushing should be mainly dings and scratches.
Another quick update:
Arms to go! Then the zbrushing stuff and fun!
Overall though, love the new additions!
It's looking super rad, I really love the plating on the table, but I agree with Starcofski, the wings seem really thick.
I think the gauntlets are gonna make this thing fly, but I almost wish he had some sort of plates on his feet now
(gonna be sick)

Hey $inz! I gave it a quick test, it seemed to work fine. (The little clipping there was didn't seem to be much consequence).
LOD0 and LOD1 complete! With Unwraps! Gonna start the Texturing!

I really love the concept, it haves a badassfromhell feeling combined with an elegant touch!
Can't wait!
Bakedowns (resolution is currently 2x the size):
The normal maps just look nasty on the LODs
