Zbrush 4r4 custom menu causes weird button offset

Okay, I'm not quite sure how to explain this in the title, but here's my issue.
I've created a custom menu within zbrush, filled it with the tools I want, and have it set to a hot key. All is fine, and it's saved up, but when I restart zbrush afterwards, my menu is still there, but all the drop down menus on the top are offset by about 1 button. Meaning I'll go to click on 1 button, and I'll get the one next to it opening up.
The videos I've watched on menus say to restart, or re initialize zbrush to get rid of this, but it doesn't work for me. Only way to fix it is to go back to a default UI.
