Hi There!

I have troubles with the Light and the Shadows on my little Mesh! :(
It makes me sick, because im trying to fix this about 3 Days long....
Getting agressive of this...

I tried it with Override Lightmap Resolution, i tried it with a lower and a higer Lightmap Resolution, but no adjustment helped.

UV Lightmap:

And the Bug:

Last Picture is Override Lightmap Resolution activated and the Lightmap Resolution is set to 512.
Remember i tried 32,64,128,256,512.
The Light and the Shadows still falling bad.

The Roof on the UV Lightmap is down right in the corner, the blue one.
Its Planar Mapped from Y.

:(:(:(

512 probably isn't high enough for the whole house. And your UV layout seems to have too much wasted space(for 3ds Max at least. dont know how spacing works in Maya)

You're probably running into issues because the verts along the peak of the roof are using averaged normals. Split that edge or harden it or give it another loop or two and report back with your results.

    So...i have fixed it.

The extruded faces from the roof were the problem.
I have deleted the resulting edges from the roof extrude and uv mapped it again.
The Roof becomes flat and then the lightning bug disappeared.

but what if the roof isnt straight?
    for example :
i have a lot of edges in the roof to make it odd.

Then i can expect a lot of lightning/shadow errors....

Padding in your lightmap is allways a good thing but i think you took it a bit over the top.
