Rig a Wisp Model

I have made a wisp ( simple circle with a small glow effect ) but I need to figure out how one would rig that. I know how to rig a model... i am just curious how people would rig it specifically.

If i had to guess, I would say I just make one Joint and setup a control set from that? Animate it from there? Any ideas and guidance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    it does depend on how your AI/pathfinding/animation systems work

    you might just be able to not rig it at all.

    My guess is a basic rig with 2 bones, one as the origin that sits on the ground, and a second that you animate.

    ah.. very interesting concept. So the bottom bone would be the one that collision and such goes to, and the top one would be the one that moves around and flutters and such. Ill try that out, thanks.
