3ds Rocket Hatch

Hi guys, I'm trying to make somthing similar to the rocket and hatch door below. I can make the rocket from a lathed spline and the hatch door bezel is easy to make as well.

My problem is moulding that hatch bezel around the rocket tube, notice in the image that it's perfectly contoured to match the tube. I have no idea how to do that. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you are using 3ds Max you can use a bend modifier on the hatch. You can even clone as a reference, and use the bend modifier on the reference. That way you can keep your flat flat in tact and continue editing that one.
