Hello all,
I'm an regular Graphite Modelling Tools user, and usually experience no serious problems with the toolset, however today I came across an issue that badly interrupted my usual workflow.
Namely, the Conform section of the GMT has suddenly become unresponsive on the mesh. All other tools are fine as far as I can tell, however the conform brushes have absolutely no effect on the geometry no matter what I do.
Is there any known reason for this?
The meshes I'm trying to conform have the Shell, Editable Poly and MeshSmooth modifiers applied to them - nothing complicated. This hasn't caused trouble before, but may be significant, I don't know.
Thank you in advance!

Even if you don't change anything if you go back down the stack and don't exit sub object mode before leaving the modifier it could cause the selection to travel up the stack causing things to stop working. So check each modifier and exit sub-object mode properly.
I found the solution (for my problem anyways). Whenever it stops working, it's because the "conform" value is set to zero. All I have to do when it happens is Alt + Click and drag to boost that value and it works again!
Thanks! I was going insane!. This was the problem.
Setup: I have a high poly version of a head and a lowpoly basemesh that I'm trying to conform to it. Everithing works pretty well all around the model, except when I try to project the verts in the mouth. As soon as I reach the crease of the mouth where the inner part of the lips meets each other on the high poly nothing is affected anymore.
I have the high poly divided into two different parts: bottom lip and jaw on one mesh and top lip and skull on the other.
I tried this because I thought it was just a projection vector issue because of the camera position (even though I work in vertex normal projection, but tried the View projection to see if it would solve the issue; no luck)
I do work on a half hidden lowpoly though.
I tried to delete the rest of the object to see if the hidden elements mess with the projection. Guess what?
Even though the sub objects are not visible, the still interfere with the conform tool.
My only solution so far is to split your object in two different pieces as soon as you want to work with seriously concave parts. And weld all the border verts together once you projected all the parts individually.
It's a highly upsetting thing that is annoying as hell... but hey who needs a mouth on a lowpoly anyway, right?
