I've posted some models in the past but i have not been overly active on these boards. That's about to change. I'll be posting my sketches, drawings and models here. I am very open to critique and would be very happy to recieve it.

Update - added props and played around a bit more with the design. Got feedback on the scene. The tree is going to be important to get the tree right. I agreed. I will also see if i can't make the scene a bit bigger. Creating more foliage and bigger rocks etc. Maybe a hut or something. Don't want the project to grow to much.

I vote for a hut or something to the scene. I think it would be cool with some kind of "hero prop" to give a nice focus point in there.

Hey! I really like the style and aesthetic of your work! It's really fun and readable, but still works with the more creepy/gothic subject matter stuff too. I really enjoy the mood of the 3D environment scene, too.
For your 2D stuff, your lighting seems a little uninformed- you're getting there but it's not quite pulling together yet. I feel like the light source on most of these is a little ambigious. I might suggest doing some lighting studies.

The scene kinda expanded yesterday. So i'm going to do another update with the UDK level later today. I don't think there will be any "hero prop" as such. But there will be more content to set the mood of the scene.

As for the 2D stuff. I totally agree with you. More studies needed
Next up is creating the tileable textures for vertex painting and the new props:
- rock
- pathway(sand and pebbles)
- grass
- trees(se concept above)
- some kind of dwelling or house.
Still need
- tileable textures for ground and mountain
- finishing up the texture for the leafs in the trees.
- create the entrance for the mine
- create some kind of dwelling(fireplace maybe)
awesome work really like the sword and being able to see multiple phases of its progress. think your textures really gave it a rustic and battle worn feel
Your still life paintings are quite nice. I also like the value paintings you've done. You might want to try to use a larger range of the value spectrum when doing more grayscale images, there's not much black in them, and having a larger range can be pretty useful. Keep it up!
