Hey guys, I am working on this Mosin Nagant at the moment, the setup is post apocalyptic so i want to go for a feel like its been through a lot. I would very much like your comments and crits on it. I have laid down a basic texture so far but i am not really sure if the steel looks right or not. Please let me know all and any ideas. I will be having attachments for it such as a Bayonet, Scope and a Strap. Here are the Images:
The wood is too bright and clean.
The materials aren't defined well. The metal does not look like metal. The main problem is that you don't have a good specular map. Generally you want to make the specular map from the diffuse and increase the contrast.
The color of the bullets do not seem to be correct.
Hey guys, thanks for the comments. Yes, i am still working on the textures the Wood i left it rather clean because i will be doing that a bit later, I don't have a Spec map on it yet either. Maybe i should post when i have something more concrete to show.

The steel
at the minute you steel seem rather dull in terms of its specularity. I dont know if you've got a spec map on there at the min or not.
