I wanted to ask if there is a way to render out shadow passes from Maya viewport 2.0.I want to render out the characters from the viewport using playblast and then render the environment seperately but the shadows being casted on the floor by the characters will not show without the environment in place. Is there some other way to do this.I tried using the hardware 2.0 renderer window but the lighting looks screwed up but everything looks ok in maya viewport.
Shadow linking doesn't seem to work with the viewport as well

You would probably need to add a shadow pass, but you can't currently use render passes with Viewport 2.0. You can turn scene objects on and off from renders, but not separate things like diffuse, ambient, shadows etc.
