That demon skull headed gnome looks pretty horrific
My personal little gripes though.
The skull/bone structure wall is too heavily chipped/weathered on the protected edges, while the exposed edges are equally weathered.
Either the exposed edges need more chips, or the protected edges less chips.
It just looks like someone went around and chipped edges pre-build, but why mason such fine smooth faces to purposely chip edges?
Or maybe it was chipped post build by someone with a chisel? Hmmm
I guess this is where modular builds fall down because you pre-weather/age elements before building with them... even some of the cut marks (from errant sword swipes?) don't flow across modules so a slice just suddenly stops at a boundary with a different piece.
None of it is show stopping stuff but it's just a shame that such details are put in which work as much against the believability as much as they work for it...
For a bit of extra work the net effect would be entirely positive and would thus justify the extra time spent shirley?
really inspirational stuff.. I visit this thread often but never say anything. This is the exact style of modeling/artwork I'm really hoping to capture and master I've only been getting into this 3d environment art thing for about 2 or 3 weeks now but I'm really hoping I can get my skills down quickly enough to start producing some really good looking stuff like this in the near future.
If you don't mind me saying, really reminds me of the Diablo/WoW look a lot, with some personal touches and the actual art aspect of it beefed up on steroids loved the first skull by the way. Keep up the great work
Thanks everyone. There were a couple of comments about the skull door lighting up when you get close to it in-game. I'm glad everyone likes the door but I can't take credit for the lights turning on. Thanks to our technical art team for that. It was as much of a surprise for me. I just came to work one day and suddenly my door had glowing eyes LOL. Props to P-funk!

Your head bone is clearly connected to the awesome bone.
(Fantastic work, guys - you must be phenomenally proud).
Haha thanks Armando
