Hello fellow polycounters,

I have a problem that i kinda fixed but not really. Basically in my church project i have set up a load of spotlights outside the windows (which are a single plane) and have light shafts bleeding through the windows. It looks great except im using 16 dominant spotlights, which work and give me the shadows im after butare also giving me some weird shading issues)

The reason being is that when i tried using spotlights earlier the spot lights would not cast a shadow through the planks on the windows regardless of how many times i clicked dynamic or changed the material etc.

With the regular, togllable and moveable spotlights when i had it selected the lighting was fine shadows n all. When it was not selected the planks shadows disappeared and when it was built they were also not visible.

I have tried a lot of things with the different spotlights, changed it to dynamic, changed the type, fiddled with the lightmass settings, made the material the planks use double sided etc.

A directional light wont really work because the light shafts are only being emitted from the source i.e. one point and i need them from about 36 sources.

I have posted a couple of photos showing my issues could anyone help me with this please im so close to finishing i can almost taste it!!

With the normal/togglable/moveable spotlight selected produces the desired shadows (or near enough)

Unselecting it makes shadows dissappear????

Baking it does not help?? Note that there are shadows being cast from the archway and other things on the floor.....just not the planks :|
