Hey folks. This is my first thread here and I'm excited to become a member of this community. I'm working on a new cinematic taking place in the Lord of the Rings universe. I had this Balrog model lying around in my archives and thought, why not make a cinematic sequence with it. Furthermore I wanted to get more familiar with the particles in CE3 and see how close I could come to the quality of the first movie's sequence in a realtime game-engine although it is not meant to be an exact copy of it. Hope you enjoy!
very impressive! I feel like there could be a little more interesting lighting, its very very dark on my monitor but perhaps that fits the lotr film scene style.
Looks awesome but could really use some tweaking on the camera zoom as well as the wings. When he bursts out of the ground, the wings could be folded, and then spread out as the pillars crumble. Right now they look way too stale :P
Keep it up, the stills you have are great!

@Ged: Yeah it's quite dark, I may will punch up the overall brightness in a future release.
@Lephenix: I sticked more to a style similar to this, rather than incorporate flesh tones into his face.
