DOTA 2 - Models in Game - How?

Hello PC,
I've been playing a bit of DOTA 2 and been having a blast, I thought I'd add one of my own models to the game. So went ahead and drew a concept, made the model, textured it up. Then hit a wall since I know no way to test my creation in game. Anyone know any helpful links to testing your model in game before posting to the workshop?
