Hey Polycount,

Here I want to keep a sketchbook of my thoughts, as well as my drawings. I'm a bit of a verbal processor so hopefully sharing this stuff with knowledgeable people will be helpful for me and engaging for you.

I won't lie, I REALLY want crits and discussion...

Starting out is always good. Value studies as well as basic figure studies might help you forward, they've been helping me forward at least. Keep up the good work!

Some countour line attempts:

I've figured that the result is much better if I sketch out the proportions before drawing in the contour line. I had trouble with the larger sections of the hammer, like the handle. I want to use a large, sweeping motion (from the shoulder) to describe the shape of the handle. But I find it difficult to achieve as accurate a line compared to when I use many smaller motions.
