3ds Max - Cant use shorcut for sub-object selection

I've just met quite a simple problem but it's been annoying me lately
I can't press the number button ( 1,2,3,4,5,6,...) for switching between the selection for vertex, edges, elements,... when I use max for a few minutes (maybe I mistakenly pressed some button):(
I'm using 3dsMax 2013 64bits
Another thing is that can you guys tell me how to change from pressing 6 to quit from sub-object selection by just pressing the same number for current sub-object selection.:poly142:
THANKS!!

"Keyboard Shortcuts Override Toggle" is not the cause. I checked that button but the problem still happens ~.~
But when I restart Max, it becomes normal again, I can use the shortcut for sub-object selection ( number 1,2,3,4,5) but I always meet up that problem again :o awwwwwwwwwwwwww ?

The Override Toggle is definitely to blame for not being able to "quit" the selection by pressing the same number twice. But even with the toggle on or off you should still be able to to use 1,2,3,4,5 to set a selection.

    Default behaviour =
Toggle off: 1-5 to select. Hit the same number to deselect.
Toggle on: 1-5 to select. Hit number 6 to deselect.

At-least, that is how it's always been for me. I realise this probably doesn't help you much. Have you got some crazy context sensitive keyboard from the future?

yeah the Toggle works for deselecting by the same number, but the shorcut numbers for sub-object selecton can't be used after using max for a few minutes :o
