Someone's asking to buy textures from me, but i have no idea what to charge. He wants to buy a complete set of different folliage textures (with alpha channel, for use with 3D models).
I'm not working as a professional texture artist, i just do mods and once in a while i help out with indie games, but i havent sold individual textures.
A few examples of my work so you can judge quality (original format is larger):
Are you giving him a unique license to use, or will you be selling it to others as well? How long have you worked on them? What do you think a decent hour wage is for you?
No it won't be a unique license, some of them are already used in my mods.
Some i've worked with for 1 minute (that grass for example, creating that special grass brush took maybe an hour). That pine textures atlas (image doesnt show all its textures), hmm i must have worked with that for a week a few hours every day. It really varies a lot.
I worked for a indie game developer some time ago and i charged £10/hour, but it's a bit different since i wasnt selling stuff that i had already made, i made models and textures specifically for him, though im free to use or sell those models..
Maybe someone knows of a site that sells foliage textures like this that i can check?
