I've recently completed a high poly model of a gas pump and before diving straight into the low poly and unwrap I wanted to post here to get some feedback on it. My goal is to work this into a portfolio piece. I've taken a bit of liberty with some of the pieces and added stronger bevels to help the shapes read better from farther back. Currently the main shape of the pump is made from two intersecting chamfered boxes that aren't welded together, but I'm wondering if I should. Is it noticeable that they aren't one piece? Is there anything I can make changes to for a better bake?
My main source of reference is the image below, however I've taken a couple of smaller design elements from other versions of Amoco pumps where I felt the shapes were somewhat more simplified and stood out stronger, particularly with the pump handle.

Also good job on the extra beveling, but I wouldn't go so far on the base and just make it flush with the ground. That just my opinion.
Clear eye, full hearts, can't lose.
