Ideally he should be distributed more evenly across the center of balance.
This is the project that I am working on - someone commented on my character's weight distribution - maybe this can help you out.
Just keep this in mind for future characters. He's really solid either way. The hair looks a lot more refined now, and he over-all looks great with goggles and lab coat! Strapping!
Hey, maybe some corked test tubes would look good in his pockets
I knew I've seen this guy before... EVE Protomecha ! Nice comic.
The head looks good, but honestly the boots, the belt and the googles could be better. The bags on the belt seam a bit too wide in fact. You could try to do the same googles as the ref, with all the little pieces.
I don't really see the boots on the refs but they look simple, brown leather, no ? Maybe it depends on the page too, i don't remeber the comic book.
But I think the biggest problem is that your sculpt is too "soft". It's especially visible on the tie, the collar, the folds... It's like everything is "plastic". Well the shader doesn't help I know.
I think he only wears these boots outdoor, walking in the snow. They don't fit with the scientist look. If you got some time you could do simple shoes for the lab, I think it will be better. On your ref, where you wrote "these pants", we really see different shoes.
I'm mostly like your stylization work, except folds on lower part of the shirt(pants look's much better), also belt attachments look to much symmetrical and uniform, it's spoiling overall cartoonist impression, but maybe it just my opinion...
Oh, and really great boots )), luve the shoelace )

Your character's throat starts behind his ear, which isn't exactly anatomically correct.
Pulling his head back would solve a balance issue as well. He is tilting forward.

Cool pouches as well
