Decided to make a Thor.
Gonna change up his costume a bit.. so here we go
LATEST UPDATE :
Spent some time playing with the straps. I think this is sort of how I am going to go, but I am going to knock back some of the scratches a bit and add some Celtic Knots to them and see how it goes. I hope by Monday I will have something a little more to show.
Have a good weekend everyone.

@ ScudzAlmighty : :poly124:
@ jaydon : haha yeah I HATE those guys. We must be going to the same gym.
@ afisher : NEVER SLEEP!!!!! thats when Freddy gets you. Interesting thought about the hands, I was actually going to go a bit smaller. I might have a play, Thanks man
@ Fnitrox : Just for you. I did it
@ dustinbrown : Thanks dude.
@ SveinY : HAHAHAHAHAHAHAA awesome. I never saw anyone take a photo of me. Seriously though that guy is the BEST ref I could EVER have for ANY character......... In fact I am pretty sure he IS a super hero.
Just the spheres.
Added some stuff, played with some stuff.
Thanks again everyone.
This character looks like he's been fun to work on
Added a quick helmet.
That reference, lol, that girl/cashier is LHmfao it seems.
loving your sculpting style, it's really inspiring... even more seeing the amount you pull out so fast
also minor noobish question: are the darker parts in your sculpts polypainted? and if so why do you do that? is it just a preference or has it any purpose?
@ Fnitrox : Thanks No the darker areas are just masked to get that different colour, No real reason for it I guess it gust helps separate the different areas.
Did not get to do too much on this guy over the weekend I needed to organise a few things, but here wee go. Starting to think he is TOO far removed from Thor at the moment, maybe I will just continue down this path and see where it takes him.
Perhaps Thor will have another brother.
I think that his belt may be hindering his silhouette a little now though, if you blur your vision while looking at his front view the body just goes straight down almost, instead of that cool tapering you had going before. Might be worth seeing how the belt looks if it was about half the height it currently is. But then in sideview it looks badass again... so i'm really not sure haha. Either way keep it comin' dude.
i'd agree with gilesruscoe though. I'd suggest simply tapering the belt slightly more to show off the body shape he had before.
Can't wait to see this finished man, lookin awesome.
Right now he just looks like some warrior guy and not the god of thunder
I sucked his belt in a bit and changed the horn skull thing. Added some stuff too.
Thanks for the feedback everyone.
The Marvel version has the blonde hair, weird round studs on his armour and the winged helm which appears to be taken from the Ring Cycle's version of Brunhilde.
In any case, I'd think as long as he's got his big hammer, he's going to be recognisable as Thor.
@ ScudzAlmighty : Yeah I will probably do his longish hair but I am not sure if it will be braided or free flowing. Probably going to stay away from the girly winged helmet.
@ Jackablade : Thanks, BIG hammer for the win. I think he will be more like the "Nordic Thor".
Still just blocking out.
Thanks for the kind words
Started some strapping. Played with the hair but NOTHING I tried fit him. So I decided to ditch it. Going to stop adding mesh for a while and start sculpting again. Then I will only be adding small bits and pieces as I need them IF I need them. Thinking of adding some spikes to the boots but maybe latter.
Have a good weekend everyone.
