Interesting, I was surprised they worked Maya into the the engine as well. Seems like more game studios are doing...build in Maya and port into game engine and or have them linked in real time.

I am loving the focus on tessellation to achieve truly mind-blowing geometry based detail.
Such as the hair. It's all tessellated geometry using parametrically controlled vector displacement maps. The spikes on the dog thing as well.
