Stumbling Towards a Portfolio(2D)

I've been slowly working on my general skill set for a while, and figured its time I try to actively strive towards putting together a portfolio. Dealt with some health issues that kept me from drawing for most of this year so far, but back on the horse now. I have a terrible habit of working in my own little cave and never seeking outside feedback though I extremely need it, so going to try to fix two problems at the same time.

I put together a collection of mostly old work to show where my skill level was/is; Would love any feedback and more so critiques. Thanks.

The first go wasn't working out, so going to remix it a bit and hope I can pull it off.

your sketches have great volume and weight to them and your line work is far more expressive than the painting, which isn't a bad thing. At least you know what makes good volume and weight, its just a case of translating that to paint. keep it up man

makecg & walklikethis, Thanks. Yeah I've always been more confident with drawing than anything further, which is why things usually don't end as I hoped. I'm hoping just cranking away with quantity while trying to fix things will get me where I need to be.

Thanks amile, we'll see.
Hit a few bumps but now just need to tighten up a few things and give the
background some love.. should hopefully have it done tomorrow.
Also threw some colors on the monster sketches for fun.

Finished with the last piece, letting my eyes rest from it for a day or two then putting final touches. Till then, here is the next piece I'm working on.
