Hey Guys
I am kinda new to 3ds max and really am wondering how i can clean / finetune some obj game mesh in max.
My problem is, i can really get the model itself smooth (after quadrifying it) and all - thats not the problem, BUT i never get rid of that reflection issue, you can see in the screenshot.
Please help a noob out :poly122: http://www.imagebam.com/image/c549e2206411538 http://www.imagebam.com/image/4b97d1206411553
Oh ok, sorry my bad
Well i want the mesh to reflect nice and smooth and not "break" or "steer" the reflections (which are only straight lines) into weird directions. So far they just seem to be broken somehow.
I strongly believe its a normal issue, though flipping and (mesh)smoothing doesnt lead to any good results
Hey Perna
Thanks for the Tip
Though it didnt really help much unfortunately
The light grey Reflection Screen comes from "Vred", where i can easily test the reflection quality of a mesh.
So in this case its not a shader problem.
I ve uploaded the file (which is a simple window from a car) https://rapidshare.com/files/2065175281/Window.obj
It d be so cool, if anyone could have a look at it
I can't really help you, but if you could show us the Material, UV's and what you have everything setup as, someone might be able to help.
I'm guessing you setup the Cubemap/Reflection of your Material in the wrong way, which is the reason for the error, like for example, instead of using a proper Cubemap or Real-Reflection you popped in a compressed DDS texture which is only a blurry texture, etc.
So yeah, maybe sharing the scene without the model or a picture of you material would do wonders.
