Okay, so I've been idle for a while, took some time off and now I'm back.
As the thread title says, this will be my thread for hard surface models(weapons, objects, vehicles, etc). I will also be working with texturing as I feel that is the area that I'm lacking in.
I saw millennia's shotgun tutorial and I watched parts of the modeling but the texturing part was what I was into. I didn't do exactly what was in the video, I branched off and went my own path.
Here's what I've got.
Crits and comments welcome, of course.

did you use 3ds max 2012 with this? when I watched this tutorial he was using "graphite tools" which made the high poly WAY simpler to create.
anyway keep it up!
Anyway, I worked a bit on it, I have evenings free to do what I can after work.
I will be making a sniper rifle as the next step from this one.
It'll be the Barrett 50 Cal.
I'll start on it after work.
C&C welcome.
Any crits and comments are welcome.
Well, here's where I'm at right now.
C&C would be appreciate on the modeling as well as the texturing, especially the texturing once I get to that part.
Here's my progress for tonight. I lowered the barrel down a bit and made the muzzle thing a bit thinner and smaller. I also made a scope for the rifle, because a sniper won't do much good without a scope, right? :poly142:
Here's the First Person View.
There's still a few things to do before I call the High Poly done.
C&C Welcome.
I agree that the gun is rather plain when looked from 3rd person view. The gun itself is plain in real life.
Here is the FPV. I added the handle to give it some visual interest in the 1st person view.
I will start working on the low poly unless anyone has something to say about the high poly model.
Let me know what you all think.
