I'm interested in creating a web site to showcase my 3d art, resume, etc. I don't have much experience in this area. I've searched the web for info and the choices are overwhelming. I'm wondering if anyone could offer specific recommendations to help me hone it down. For example:
- where is the best place to register and/or purchase a domain name?
- where is the best place to host the site?
- what is the best software or way for creating my site? (short learning curve is good)

Its cheap and works well.
Basic html and pretty images is all you need. You can find enough info on google.
