I would like to know how to export my 3ds max model to a game. I learnt that Y axis is the up axis for any game. Is there any specific standards or steps that I must follow? I am currently having trouble aligning my item with a game character. I know for sure that I am missing something, so need all the help that I can get.
I exported my 3ds max model in .fbx format, with Y axis up. But my model is off to someother place.

Which engine are we talking about? Unity has Y-Up and Unreal has Z-Up.
If it's to UDK have it facing positive X and up the Z axis (as said above). Not sure about other engines.
