Feedback/advice PLZ

Hello everyone, I am a 3D Artist graduated from Amsterdam's Qantm College in the 3D Interactive Animation course. I am trying to break into the game industry, but I am having an extremely hard time doing so.

I would appreciate some feedback regarding my work and its quality and perhaps some ideas of what I am doing wrong or what I can do different.

So far I have only worked in a small indie game which was never released and I don't have a work permit in the US or Europe (which is also a handicap). I also have some other experiences as an intern but that's it no released titles under my belt.

Here is my portfolio http://www.behance.net/josebidegain

Anyways thanks for taking a look at it and the feedback :)

Some things I can see at a quick glance:

-Site is not intuitive and organized, too busy
-No particular role in mind Character Artist? Environment Artist? Prop Artist?, what's your main goal.

There is nothing wrong with being a Generalist, but for breaking into the industry I think you should focus more on one aspect characters, environments, etc

Make your work more accessible and your site easy to navigate. ;) good luck

Your stuff isn't bad so much as your website is kind of a mess. You have alot of previous work but at least four of your links aren't really showing off game assets and the ones that so are low res pictures that I can't really see well. If you're trying to get into game art, I want to see assets, wireframes, and texture sheets. The best thing I can say is to pick a focus and center your portfolio around that.

My advice would be first of all to cut the fluff. Second, look at other peoples portfolios and see what they are showing off and how.

I am trying to focus on Environment art/Prop modeler, which I think is a possible combination. I understand its a mess, I should get rid of some of the pieces which are not helpful in there and perhaps arrange them in a more descriptive manner?

Will work on those first points first! any more advice is welcome.

The mess is the layout, not the amount of work. Its not structured like a typical portfolio site
