Real time ? seamless on 3d ? 2d ?
Well, there are 2 modes. Let's say, real time, and projection. You can't paint on seams with the real time mode (it will jump from uv shells to uv shells), but you can in projection mode.
The projection is very fast to set, but when you rotate, it's a bit slow. So you'd better switch between the 2 modes.
There's a padding option to set somewhere in the preferences.
You can also paint directly on the texture, and seamlessly (painting on a border will bleed on the other). This is a very nice tool, far better than photoshop archaic offset filter.
Bodypaint is the best 3d painting software i've tested by now but i didn't test mari which seems to be pretty good too.
