Nice to see so many nice entries in this competition! I'am a bit late to participate so hopefully i'am able to finish everthing in time.
I decided to take a shot at a character wielding the bow, and who would be better suitable than our friend 'the elf' (i know...how original).
Anyway, my goal is to take this old concept of elves and push it into a slightly different direction.
1. Concept art:
After a few sketches i ended up with this concept art. Because the Mixamo briefing is centered around the weapons a thought i'd do the same with the backstory:
'These elves live deep in the forrest. They tend to keep to themselves and don't have much contact with other races. As a result they don't barter much and are not wealthy in terms of money.
At birth the parents of the child plant a seed of the sternwood tree in the ground. The wood of this tree doesn't die when it is cut, instead it keeps on growing. At the age of 4 the shrub is cut and made into a bow.
As the elf grows and learns to handle the bow, the wood grows stronger with each passing year. With the wielder and weapon so accustomed to eachother it's no coincidence that these elves are masters in archery.'
Ideas derifed from this backstory:- A gnarly (still growing) sternwood bow.
- Their warfare centers around skill, fast and silent attacks. therefore they do not wear metal/heavy armor.
- A tall and muscular physique. From intensive training and handling of the bow.
- They wear poor patched up clothes, mostly self made.
- Their archery is unmatched, A proudness surrounds them combined with the fairness of the elven race.
- An stern/alert look on their face to communicatie animal-like senses from living in the wild.
For style i want to try a more realistic texturing approach, and stay away from WOW or other cartoonesk characters.
2. Progress
Here's the basemodel and first version. I tried to keep true to the concept but i encountered a few issues.
1. The sword is bothering me because it's to prominent....eventually i want the bow to stand out.
2. The cape in the concept is nice but it's simply not practical. The quiver is in the way so i'am moving the cape to his waist.
I did a first texture test and made some quick revisions in photoshop to see if this will work. Here's the image and latest version of the model:

Looks really cool, could be in the Witcher. Maybe the arms are a bit too muscular. Legolas took some steroids ^^.
I still have to rebake the textures according to Mixamo's specs. Hope you like it!

This is the texture sheet i used. A Diffuse, Specular, Normal and Alpha map.
Very nice character!
Here's the final posed version.
Thanks for all the comments and tips!
Yes, Witcher was a source of inspiration. Also a comic named Requiem, LOTR, and the face of Marlyn Manson.
