3ds max custom ui not working...

it seems like I cant get max to accept my changes in the UI. when I look in the customize user interface menu all of my changes are there but they are not applied or something. Its just silly that im wrestling with this instead of actually doing any work, help!

Ah, I see. I was max needed delays in key presses to register what I was doing. my macro key board didnt use delays by default. And I was in editable poly.
