So, really late start ... didn't think at first about entering the contest, as I still have a lot of things to learn, but I had an idea about ~1 week ago, and couldn't resist joining in the competition

My idea was to play around with the weapons' theme : I wanted to make a character that uses a bow, but not a regular one, and instead making it the size of a ballista (so some kind of blacksmith / engineer).
Might be a little bit off topic for the competition but ... well
.
Here's what I came up :
I'm considering to put the ballista on wheels, or on some kind of vehicle, but don't know if it would be too much ..

But remember that the character AND the weapon should be under 15 000 and use a mx texture space of 2048px². Looks ok for the 15 000 tris, but putting both on a 2048... looks difficult.
As for the ballista, I agree that making a whole vehicle might be a bit too extreme .. I was thinking on making something like this (Age of Empires - something simple, like the first design)
For the texture size, I haven't really thought about it. In fact, I still have to find out a good workflow in sculpting with Zbrush and retopology, that's kinda freaking me out (don't know if I'll have the time to finish this up)
For now, I still have too much things to figure out, I think, so I'll just take this as an opportunity to try new things.
