Hey guys and gals, here is my first dive into UDK. Made in Maya/zbrush, threw into UDK. The main concept behind this was a very generic kind of royalty meeting table or dinning table.Any particular tuts you'd recommend for first timers into UDK would be great. As well as prop tuts other than the obvious ones on the Wiki. I'm not sure if I am going to continue to work on this model more or start over on something smaller and more concentrated.
This last image is a render in Maya, As you can see I just don't know how to light in UDK yet. As well as the Spec mapping not seeming to carry over on the table cloth into UDK, but the seat cushions did and as far as I can tell they were done identically in process.

I think one of the most powerful things about UDK is the material editor - I would dive into that as soon as possible. Normal and spec maps have a huge influence on lighting, so I would get those down first.
Phillip K makes some great tutorials here on how to generate the various texture maps you'll need: http://www.philipk.net/tutorials/materials/materials.html
Also Chris Albelhun has a pretty comprehensive list of tuts, many of which are focused on UDK and UT3: http://www.chrisalbeluhn.com/3D_Tutorials.html
Keep it up UDK is a blast to work in!
