Hi!
First of all I want to say "hi" to everybody, since this is my first post here!
I´m new to cryengine 3 SDK and a bit concerned about realtime shadows. In UDK I used to bake all the static objects and only my character would have a real time shadow.
Please have a look at the awesome "Heavy Rain" game (for example :

1. Would that be an overkill for the cryengine if every object casts its own shadow? What would you do to optimize this scene?
2. It´s hard to see in the screenshot, but the light comes from a couple of neon light strips fixed to the ceiling. Where would you place the shadow caster to get a realistic effect?
Looking forward to your answers!
Thanks,
Oli

you really dont need to worry about lighting when creating stuff in CE3. Its all taken care of automatically. When you're done with your scene you can tweak individual values to get the best results
