While I'm not doing my cyberpunk girl, I decided to make a current gen CJ from GTA:SA just to have some training. Crits are welcome:)
Latest update: DONE!
CJ is cool, loved San Andreas I agree with him being to thin and I think he looks to ripped as well, a lesser pronounced body would fit him better.
Also pants longer down panties longer up
Personally I would make his midsection broader, scaling it a bit so it has nearly the same width as his chest and his baggy pants need to be more baggy and loose on the legs.
My crits:-
- You should darken the diffuse. And make him pop more with a tighter specular map.
- His clavicle is sitting at quite a distance from the end of the sternocleidomastoid muscle. You should put the clavicle up.
- I also think you should reduce the size of his head a little.
- Oh, being bothered by the folds on his pants? Screw it. Smooth it all out and go again. Remember, dam_standard, trimdyamic and flatten are your friends. Also you need to keep in mind that your going to have areas of cloth tension and areas of cloth relaxation.
Thanks for all the feedback guys. Now I'm done with him, I realized some decisions that made him looks worse than he really is.
I agree; his head is big and the final pose doesn't help too, but the mainly issue is:
The hips. At first glance, you think his hips start where is the belt, maybe because you don't have the impression his pants are "baggy" enough or because the underwear is almost the same color of the shirt an this make A LOT of difference. See how the original version has more exaggerations on the limbs to make him "agreeable" Overall, it's hard to make an CJ HD version work well. I've failed But I learned a lot!
obs: I think the clothes make CJ looks like CJ, not the face. His face isn't so memorable like Niko Bellic or Claude

I feel like his head is too big for his body and his arms and especially his wrists are too thin.

I've made a few changes in the head and clothes. The pants wrinkles are bothering me His muscles need some love too
Started the lowpoly, here's a small update:
Like the face especially.

I'm calling it done. Yes, there a lot of errors, but I think it's time to move on
His head is longer, the eyes are smaller and his jaw is less wide
but he is a black male, ticks all the boxes ???
