Hey guys, i am new here, i hope i can get the best advice from professionals here.
I really want to work in game industry, like environment or character artist. Both things are awesome for me, i really want to create awesome environments, but also i want to create bad ass characters, like those from Diablo 3.
But as i read, it's like as hell to get hired as character artist from the complex of creating them, like anatomy, topology, how they gonna move.
In this past months, i can't really decide it. I have seen guys, who do both, i asked them, everyone of them told me they started as junior environment artist, because is more easy to get hired, and they worked way up as senior or lead character artist. Is that the best i can do? How they find space to learn anatomy of the characters, topology, dunno what else?

this is the lead character artist from my job. match this and you can get a job anywhere you want. This industry is about how good you are, plain and simple. so go get to it, and stop wasting time thinking about it.
It's much more about the fact that there are many more people trying to be character artists and so the competition for those jobs is higher. The standards and expectations for those positions tend to be higher as well.
