I am probably never going to create a lowpoly model for these, it just takes too long. They were mainly created as an exercise, because I never really did much hard surface modeling before these.
great modeling and renders, but seriously kill the chromatic abberation. It's incredibly distracting and is unfortunately becoming a trend...a little bit is okay but like Visceral said it's hard on the eyes (and I dont really see the benefit of using it).
Those are some pretty tight models! When you say around 3 days avg per vehicle were you starting with pre-existing detail geo (like your clamps, bolts, handles, etc) or was that all built from scratch? Either way, that's still impressive, especially since you had time for some sculpting too. Really nice work!
*edit* Hope you don't mind me asking but are you working for a particular game studio or are you freelance? The range of quality work in your portfolio as well as your traditional skills are excellent. So much style and with pro execution. You're way too good for just a flickr account
Thanks everyone! I know I need to add more subtle chromatic abboration.
@Bee-Bee: Thank you, I love your work by the way! I just put these sketches and WIPs up at Flickr because most stuff is unfinished (I still need to make a portfolio website and finish as much work as possible. I have been planning to do that for a very long time. (And I am rusty at website coding, even though I have an IT education in programming :-() I am a freelancer, but not doing any professional work at the moment.
Those are very nice. I'm especialy impressed by your speed. Wish i was that fast.
Not sure why you think low poly would take too much time. If you can make such detailed hipolies in under 3 days the low poly should be easy pie for you.

Are you gonna bake / create low poly of one of these?
Just one thing: what exactly is that thing that floats above the turret in the last 3 images (m3 halftrack)?

I'm outta-words
Agreed. Ease up on it a little but they look phenomenal. Gold star for you :P
