So I am new and been modeling for some time now and decided to post some stuff. If anyone remembers the game "Metal Slug", I'm sure you remember the Mars People and the mini ufo they fly around in. So I decided to make one since I haven't seen any other people do it.
The model is around 1,044 tris and I used 3ds max and Zbrush for details on the ship, and the alien itself. I have Diffuse, Normal, Specular, and an emissive map all in 2048 x 2048 size.
Here is the concepts I was going from (the game sprite is what it originally looks like in 2d format).

Here are 3 big shots of the model in a group rendered in UDK:

I think the ship would look better round, and slightly bigger, it's looking more like a display container than a mode of transport right now. (I know it matches the sprite, but being able to see if in 3D makes it register differently, in mymind anyway)
It might be cool to see those tentacles coming up to the glass, like your bottom right reference pic.
The creases could be deepened between the "bulbs" on his face as well, really dig it so far though!

UPDATE: So I took in consideration about the tentacles and added 4 of them now. I also stretched out the bottom part of the ship to make it more noticeable so that it didn't look so squished.
Careful, I believe you necro'd the thread.
