Hey guys!

I am having a weird problem with Textools and the Render to Texture screen in 3DS max.

First I bake my Normal Map with Render 2 Texture and it works after I hit Render.

Then I make my AO with Textools AO Mental Ray Renderer.

But when I want to Rebake my Normal Map with the Render 2 Texture window and i press "Render", nothing happends! It Says Texture bake completed, within 0.01 seconds but I dont get a pop up screen and it doesnt save anything.

Things I've tried was:
-Merging the models into a new scene
-Change the Renderer back to Default.

Can you please help me? This is getting annoying :P

Thanks!

    • fixed issue (I think so) with RTT not working anymore after you used either the AO or some of the map render types from TexTools. (I think the issue was that I set the ...bakeEnabled = false; after the bake, and that option is not availbel in the default 3dsmax RTT window).

This is an error that the older version had. 3.0

    But where is this BakeEnable...

Do you use the Scanline renderer to bake your normals? If so, I'd suggest making sure you have the correct renderer set up. If TexTools switches to Mental ray and you're trying to rebake you have to change back to the Scanline.

    Hope that helps.

I can reproduce the exact same problem with 3ds max 2012 and textools.

Ugly fix i managed to find is this:

-in rtt window under mapping coordinates, tick Use Automatic Unwrap
-now you can bake your model again (with wrong uv's)
-delete Automatic Flatten UV's modifier from your lowpoly
-tick Use Existing Channel again and bake as normal
