Hi all,
entering late in the contest. I want to work with different materials ( leather and steel).
Character :
LAHAD is a dark paladin who absorbs soul of his ennemies. On the battleground everybody know when he arrives; in fact, his big steel horn lets scream all souls of ennemies absorbed.

My ref for knights.
I'm working on the profile board (at the bottom). Actually my character is too flat. Arms and hands are not finish, and i really need to work again my legs.
Heres what I did:
- Defined andseperated the legs n hips from the upper body
- Defined and lengthened the arms
- Lengthened the legs
3D soon with these new build.
I will use the great concept art of Mr_Mout. A dark paladin in the way of my first test.
And here, first modeling stuff
Mout had already design many knights, i chose one of them i like; and in the same way i think my knight. And after, mout say me; that he will retakes his concept to be more like i want.

3D WIP :
the current 3D model looks a bit comical to me with this uberproportional armor pieces, and his main body being reduced to realistical proportions.
i would recommd you eather enlarge his main body so it fits the concept more, or reduce the size of his shoulderarmor and helmet to fit the proportions of the main body.
good luck!
Not the first contest I follow but my first post here cause I very much like the concept art. Looking forward to seeing it completed in 3D.
Which engine do you plan to use, as I guess shaders are critical to render the materials ?
Thx for your advices.
@Goeddy : in fact, i think my body proportion is good, but the shoulder armor is really too big.
@oupas : i will use Unity3D for my beauty shots, because i work since 3 years with this engine. For shaders, i think i will create a special relfect/difusse/spec/gloss/bump/rim shader certainly with strumpy shader editor.
3D update at the end of the day.
Latest update, i 've retake proportion, create more objects. Tonight, i will finish the character and during (3d base); during the week end i will give more details for the armor.
Update armor:
gramophone in his back is not finish. Need to work more on its strap. Next step, give more charism to the armor (damage, scratch, etc.).

Just checked your link, didn't know Unity3D allowed for such rendering in browser. Quite nice!
