I worked on Dungeon Hunter PSN for Gameloft back in 2009-2010. It's a little overdue but I'm finally making an art dump.
Huge thanks to Ben "B1ll" Regimbal for help along the way with these! He worked freelance with me on the project and really kicked my ass along the way with critiques and paintovers! He also did concept sketches for many of the characters.
Credit to Simon "Ithoual" Lallement for the original goblin model and texture as well. I think he also helped concept some of the characters.
Some of the artwork is a little subpar/underpolished. Towards the end of the project I'd often have deadlines as little as a day or two for an entire character. I've left many in for the sake of the collection though :P
Dropbox doesn't work here so I had to copy/paste every image url to a new window to make the images load. But it was totally worth it. Sweet sweet art!
These turned out great man, I love the first few characters too. You mentioned your deadlines were pretty tight - did you sculpt a high poly first and bake the AO to a low poly or just build the low poly mesh and texture it straight away?
I've always thought of Gameloft as being sub-par to average, but this is just..........wow.
You've just changed my opinion in one fell swoop, good job sir.
Wow, love the art-dump I especially love the goblins as well that image Instantly hooked me in.
Amazing work, I love the Hand Painted stuff.
So nostalgic, I wants MOAR! *runs to check out game*
Wow thanks everyone! I really appreciate all the nice comments!
It was my favorite gameloft project for sure. It was a ton of fun to work on! Something about painting on a 512 texture just feels right :P
I should probably also clarify that only a few of the characters had super strict deadlines, I think most took around 3-5 days. There was a fair amount of reusing for meshes, so that sped things up. The textures were painted in 3D for the most part using a single layer or frequently collapsing down so that helped speed up the process as well.
I've made a couple quick edits to the images, expanding the skeletons out into their own page each, and upsizing one of the textures that was accidentally a 256.
Funky Bunnies - haha thanks man! I'm a fan, you've been posting tons of awesome ladies lately!

I scrolled and saved these images so fast. And then I went and stared at them for about 45 minutes. Awesome work duder, I know how it is to work with tight deadlines so mad props on still keeping the quality bar up there.
I've worked on Dungeon Hunter 3, so its very nice to see these pieces. Though DH3 is mobile platform, so we had to use potentially less then half the restrictions which kinda sucks. But thanks again for posting these up, really enjoyed checking these out.
daaaaaaaamn guuuuuuuuurl! This stuff is super nice, really clean tetxure work; and I love the color pallet on everything! Did you paint it mostly in 3dcoat or similar software or was it mostly working on the flats?
Psyk0 - Yeah! those were good times, thorough tutorial if i remember too :P

Havoc89 - Thanks man, glad you enjoyed checking them out. Yeah, we had really easy going specs for these models so it was pretty fun to work on!
daphz - hahaha thanks dude! It was probably like 90-95% bodypaint, and then photoshop for the rest. Btw, like i said to ceebee, great work on your dota sculpt!
poffington - thanks dude! :P Hopefully just another month or so now
I wanted to add a closeup of the troll, so here's a little mini bump for that :P
