Hey guys im quite new in the 3d world need little bit help. If i modell out a High poly i would like to showcase. what render methods do u use? Im using maya 2012. and if i later on bake them out on to a low pooy. how do i do a good render in lets say udk or marmoset?

In general, it's just, pretty material with some spec, some lights (for example the standard 3 point), render that out.
Then do a AO render, and composite both in PS.
Then for the lowpoly, just look up some tuts.
For example for UDK there are 2 free eat3D video's, maybe look up some tuts for materials besides that.

this one is for 3dsmax/xoliulshader, but if I remeber well there should be some general stuff in there that is good to know (the usual settings that will be in most programs/shaders, lighting/etc).
